Week 20- June 26

The week has been pretty good, it has been a really weird week, with Elder Blakely going home and all. I have not yet got a new companion but I will be tonight at four. I think it is going to be really weird! It will be reallly cool. I am not getting transfered so I will be in Temecula still. I am excited to stay here and actually have to run the area by my self, thats going to be a change!

Saturday was a really busy day! we did service all day basically, but it was really fun. We worked out on the tree farm again, and thats always a good time. we helped some members fix some sprinklers and some edging so that was fun since I know a little bit about it! We also helped another member move this ridiculously huge bbq island thing. the thing probably weighed 2000 pounds it took about 10 of us to move it from their front yard to back yard on furniture rollers. it was really obnoixious.

Friday one of our investigators left for texas and she wont be back until the end of august so thats a bummer, but thursday we picked up another new investigator so we will still be teaching a little bit. Thats really it for the week nohing else really to exciting. just trying to find people to teach, visiting members and just working away.

Sounds like you guys have been really busy. I cant believe all those people are getting married. Were the smarts at marissa's wedding? thats so crazy that bekah is already married! tell her congrats. I still wanna see the announcement.  Thats so crazy that there has been fires. sounds like the heat is pretty exciting. It has been pretty warm here but I dont think it has gotten up to the hundreds yet. is it crazy having jim as bishop?

I love you hope you have a great week!

Letter from Brother Anton in the Pauba Ward in Temecula

Hello Blakely and Rindlisbacher Families,

This is Brother Scott Anton of the Pauba Ward in Temecula, California; and I have had the honor of and pleasure of meeting your sons and having them in our home many times over the past few months.  It has been great to see each of them grow in their faith , both in the Church and in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  I know they came out into the field with a strong testimony but I have seen it grow and seen their hard work pay off, not only in baptisms, but in the pure respect and love that our ward has for your sons, they are truly wonderful and a blessing to our Ward Family.

I am a fairly sarcastic person and it is very seldom that both Missionaries are able to handle my sense of humor, but your sons are the exception to the rule.  They are able to dish it back out when needed (and my kids love it), and they have helped our family actually enjoy the Missionary experience.  We do not normally look forward to having the Missionaries over for dinner, but we have these past couple of months. My children enjoy the scriptural lessons your sons give and participate with them.  My children are 18,16, 15, and 11, between seminary, church and our scripture study this is the last thing they want to hear.  But they are always here when your sons come over, often invite friends and enjoy the conversation.

Today was a very special day in our house.  My son Andrew went out on his first Missionary Discussion, he is 16, has a strong testimony of the church but has never shown an interest in participating, one of your boys said something to him that made him act on his testimony, and when they got home they told me he participated and did a great job with the soon to be convert.  Of course I was very proud of my son for taking the trip, but was just as proud of your sons for taking him.  They truly have been like an extension to our family, and I wanted to tell you how much we love them and thank you for sending them to us.  I am a convert to the church, so I am always learning new things about the gospel, and they have taught me many things.  In fact I have never written to our missionary families before, so that should tell you how much I enjoy the time I have with your sons.

My wife signed up to feed them today, Fathers Day, and they held a youth scripture study course at our home this evening, so we saw a lot of them today, it was an added blessing.  I want to tell you we have  a little standing joke.  Whenever they go to other members homes for dinner the family is usually dressed nicely, if it is a Sunday usually still in church attire.  But that is not the case at our house.  We are casual, pajama pants and t-shirts, so I have been teasing the Elders that if they were going to have Fathers Day Dinner with us they are going to have to dress the part.  So attached is a picture of the clothes we made them wear for dinner.  They really enjoyed being able to relax a bit and eat some good Greek Food (I am Greek and I always try to get them to eat a variety of strange Greek Food) today we had Sofrito (Veal), Spanaki (Spinach with Feta) Rice and a Greek salad (but they put ranch dressing on it).  All in all they ate good, not to heavy on the spinach, but it is an acquired taste.

We will be saying good bye to Elder Blakely next week and he will be missed, and we are praying that Elder Rindlisbacher will remain a little longer.  We really love your boys and are grateful to you for allowing them to spend a short period of their lives with us, we have been blessed with their kindness, service and compassion, I hope you enjoy the picture and don’t get to mad at me for making them break dress code for a short period of time.

With all our Love,

The Anton Family,
Scott, Shauna, Aubree, Andrew, Alee, Alec, and Dallas (our dog)

Thats awesome brother anton sent you an email. That family is so cool! howd you like the picture? pretty cool huh? did he tell you about how everytime we go to dinner at their house thay are always in pajamas? its awesome so he got us a pair to. They are a great family!

I am doing really good! this week has been really good! its been really busy. We have continued to teach rosi, and its really cool, she knows the church is true, and she told us that she knows that the catholic church is corrupt. its been a really great experience to get to teach her, she has so many questions. she will be leaving this friday to go to texas for the summer, but hopefully when she gets back she will be baptized. I think she will.

Sunday night we had another scripture reading group with the youth, Its been so cool to see the youth get excited about reading the Book of Mormon we are going to have it every sunday night hopefully.

Today has been a great day. We went golfing this morning. It was way cool. I love golfing. the course we played was pretty darn sweet. It was a good day for golf. I shot a 112 for 18 which isnt to bad, since I havent been in a little while. Brother Natter from the ward took us so it was great.
Saturday we did service for most of the day. It was really fun we washed windows, and we built a chicken coop. It was like a Hilton hotel for chickens, it was really fancy, but it was fun to make it. Thats basically been the excitment for the week. just a lot of visiting members and all that good fun stuff.

Sounds like you guys have had a good busy week. thats awesome that austins doing that im proud of him. Thats awesome that youre running to, just keep it up and itll get better.

Week 18- June 12th :)

No I dont need anymore scotcheroos, I still have a little bit. That is so Awesome that Jim is now the Bishop I totally called it. That Is a pretty cool Bishopric!

This week has been a pretty good week, We havent done to much service, but we have done quite a bit of teaching. I think we ended up teaching about 8 lessons last week, which is really good, because I need to work on my teaching skills, and the best way to do it is Just do it! so that was great. We picked up a new investigator, my first new investigator of my mission. Her husband is the one that was baptized in December and after all this has happened her heart is starting to soften and she is wanting to learn more. We gave her a El Libro De Mormon, because she is spanish and she said she was going to start reading it. She also wants to meet with us everyday so she can learn as much as possible before she leaves to Texas for the summer. She is great to teach, because she has so many great questions.

Sunday night we did a thing with the youth called SRG which stands for Scripture Reading Group. Its where all the youth get together and just read a chapter or two out of the Book of Mormon and talk about it and have treats. It was so cool, Sunday night we had about 30 youth there and it was such a cool experiance. The Spirit was so strong there and alot of the youth learned something new or had questions answered so it was just way neat!

Saturday we layed sod again, thats slways so much fun I just love it. We also went party hoping. a few families in the ward were having graduation parties and we got invited to all of them, because there was going to be none members there and they wanted us to talk with them and share the gosple, but we werent able to talk to very many, but it was pretty funny to get invited to parties as a missionary.

Yesterday we got to have interviews with the President. Its always so great to get to talk to him and his wife, they are such great people! This morning I was able to get my permanent crown put on, It feels so great! the dentist that did it is such a great guy!

If I still have that backpack that would be great if you could send it out, and anything else you would like to send me, but not to much candy I still have so much. other than that I dont think I really need anything.

Thanks for everything mom! Love You!! hope you have great week!

 Love!

Week 17- June 5

Everything is going great, Just staying super busy! My tooths doing good I go back to the dentist to get the real crown next week. Yes I did get the package. Thank you so much!! There sure was a lot of pictures! There is definitely enough scotheroos to last a little bit.
Well This past week has been really busy! Nothing to exciting happened wendnesday, except we had lunch with a member who was in our ward before it split. and she sent you a picture.
Thursday was an extremely busy day, We did service out on one of our members farms and while we were out there we got a million phone calls from the ward saying that we needed to go help this other family, because they had to move out of their house that day. so we went out there and helped them move. I was basically in service clothes that whole day.
Friday was also a really busy day. We were supposed to be planning for our week, but that family needed help again. We went out there again and we bucked hay for 4 hours it was really fun I really enjoyed it, but that is definitely hard work.
Saturday we helped a young man in the ward out with his eagle scout project. While we were doing that there was a methodist chuch group there also doing service, so when we finished the eagle project we jumped in and started helping them out. It was pretty funny, because we posed for a lot of pictures for them and they also took a ton of us while we were just working, so Im pretty sure we ended up on their news letter or something like that. It was a really cool experiance, we also got a shirt from them so that was pretty cool.
Sunday night we went to seminary graduation, because we taught the class a few times. It was really cool, but its crazy how small it was. While I was there I was thinking about my seminary graduation and how many people were there and it was like 3 times as many as there was here. I also was thinking about how long ago that was! I have been graduated from seminary and school for a year now. Wow has time flown!!   Thats all the exciting things that have happened this week.
So there is a family that just moved into our ward recently from san diego and we had dinner with them the other night. While we were eating dinner we started talking about utah and riverton and the salt lake valley and come to find out, this family had Corey Ipsen over for breakfast the first week of his mission. It was so funny to find that out, They really liked him.
Hopefully this week we will be picking up a new investigator. Her husband was baptized christmas eve and in the past couple months has mad some wrong decisions and left his wife, and fallen away from the church, but with all of this happening the church and the members here have rallied around her and supported her and helped her out and now she wants to learn more, so we will be teaching her Friday night. Its going to be really cool.
Thats cool that you are running. 2 miles isnt bad at all, I pretty much can only run 2 miles also with my ankle, so dont feel bad youll work into it. Thats so cool that austin wants to do cross country! Thats so crazy that jeremy johansen got his call, But its way cool! Tell him congrats from me, Please and thanks.Youre definitely going to have to let me know who the new bishop is. Im excited to find out. So do you guys have any fun exciting summer plans? scout camps? vacations? anything fun?
Thanks for everything!  Love you Mom! I hope you have a good week!

So I have a challenge for the family, I want to challenge you to read the Book of Mormon as a family and finish it by the end of the year, I know that is completely possible you can finish it in 4 months by reading 5 pages a day. I know that by doing this the Lord will bless all of you, I know that, because I have seen it in my life. I started it February 16 and I have a goal to finish it by the 16 of this month and I have seen so many blessing come from me reading it every day. I know that you can do it.

Love you mom!
