Friday and Saturday I was on exchanges with Elder Risk, my MTC companion. Saturday morning we went Mountain biking with some of his investigators which was a ton of fun! After Mountain biking we exchanged again, so it was an exchange inside of an exchange, and I went with one of the zone leaders because they needed my help fixing some sprinklers for a potential investigator. When they first met this lady she wasnt to nice with them and said she wasnt interested but they asked if she needed any help and she told them that her sprinklers hadnt worked for a good while and they said they could fix them. So we went over there Saturday morning and spent about 3 and 1/2 hours working on the sprinklers and while I was fixing them the companion I was with was talking with her and found out that she has brain cancer and has been struggling and he was prompted to ask if she wanted to receive a blessing when we were done. after we had finished we asked her if she would like one and she said yes. Right when I put my hands on her head she started to cry and feel the spirit, it was so strong it was an awesome experiance to be part of that blessing. after we gave the blessing we asked if she wanted to learn more and she said she had been thinking about that while we were fixing the sprinklers and she said she felt like she should learn so we set up a return appointment and they are going to back and have a lesson with her. It was a miracle day, It was a miracle that we were able to fix them. It was such an awesome experiance, I think that is why I stayed in Temecula another 6 weeks.
Tomorrow is zone conference so we will be heading down to Vista for that. Myself and 3 other elders in my district are singing in the meeting. Its going to be pretty interesting because I have never sang in front of people, I am kind of nervous, but it is going to good.
Tonight we are going to be a part of the mutual activity, we are making breakfast and the youth are going to play stump the Elder. They are going to be able to stump us pretty easy because I dont know to much, but it is still going to be fun!
Thursday night I taught my first lesson with out a companion, My companion was doing baptismal interviews and I was with a ward missionary, Brother Natter. It was pretty nerve raking, I didnt feel like I knew what I was doing but I just listened to the spirit and followed the lesson plan and it ended up working out great, It was pretty cool to be able to do that, I really enjoyed knowing that I can actually do it. I am pretty sure if I had to do that 6 months ago I would have struggled a lot more, so its really cool to see how much I have grown.
