Week 33- September 25

Well I am in Orange County in Ledera Ranch by Mission Viejo. This is a really interesting area. I really dont like orange county. there is a lot of really rich people. The area I am serving in feels a lot like Disneyland all the houses are so close together and and everyone basically lives on top of each other. It is so crowded. The ward is pretty cool, but the people here are just so different. I really miss Temecula and the members there. My new companion is Elder Satuala from Bountiful, Utah. He is tongan. His parents came from tonga. He is an awesome Elder. The area that I am serving in is a part time car part time walk or bike. This is going to be really good, because I have the feeling I am going to loose some weight here. It has been really tough getting to know the new area. All the addresses her are really weird and all the weird street names, I think it is going to take me a little while. Being a district leader is going to be pretty exciting, but I am nervous. So far it hasnt gone to bad. Tomorrow is my first real district meeting and its going to be interesting on how that goes, with me giving trainings and all that fun stuff.
That is so awesome that Brother Anton sent that picture. I really miss all of the families in Temecula. The weather here is pretty much like it was in Temecula, pretty warm, but its not to bad. I really dont mind the warm weather. The New shoes that I have are really great they feel a lot better than the other ones, especially with all of the walking that we are doing.
That is so crazy that the Cross country season is almost over, it feels like it just started. Thats awesome that he went camping! I wish I could go camping, that sounds fun right about now. But thats okay being a missionary is pretty fun. Thats so crazy that st george is already coming up! It is so bizzar how fast time goes, it feels like we were just down there last year. Thats awesome that Austin and Christian went to the dedication. Is christian planning on going up to Canada for the open House or dedication? I believe thats in a couple weeks if I heard right.  I have heard about BYU, but thats ok its a great year to miss watching football, also baseball. Both of the teams I like are doing pretty bad. We hear about all that stuff all the time.

So this morning we went golfing again. The golf course wasnt to nice but it was fun to go. The golf course was basically a little chip and putt course so I never pulled out the driver. It was a pretty good game of golf but not as fun as it was with Brother Natter. I definitely am going to come back here and do a little bit of golfing when I am done. The people here are not very nice at all. I was so shocked when I first got here and started walking around, everyone was pretty rude. Nothing like the Friendliness of Temecula. But hey it makes for some good stories. I have been so busy since I got here I havent had time to do anything. I am still unpacking all of my stuff. We have been getting up at 5;30 to have a little bit more time but it feels like there still isnt enough time to get everything done. One of my responsibilities as a district leader is to interview people to be baptized, and Saturday I was able to have my fist one. The lady I interviewed is 30 years old and she is from brazil, she speaks very little english so we had an inturpreter there in the interview. It was a pretty cool experiance to sit down with her and see where her testimony was it and she is super solid. It was funny because during the interview I felt like I was talking to the interpereter instead of the lady but it was a good interview. I am already liking this assignment it is going to be really fun. Everything is going well!

Week 32- Sept 18

Today probably is one of the hardest days of my mission. It is so hard to say goodbye to all the incredible people I have met here in Temecula. I am really sad to be getting transferred but I know it will be good. Temecula has been amazing. The Natters are such an awesome family! I am going to have to say that they are my favorite family! I am really going to miss them, along with everyone else. This morning we did go golfing! it was a lot of fun! I had a really good game, I shot like a 94 or something like that it was awesome! I do not know where I am going to be going yet, I will find out around 4 tonight and then from there I will head to the new area. I am really nervous. With this new transfer I have been asked to be a district leader. I am really nervous for that, because there is a lot of responsibility, but it will be good! I really do not like change but I know it is what the Lord wants and I know it will help me grow! It has been so hard to say goodbye, but I know that it is not forever. But I will definitaly miss it here.

This last week has been pretty crazy, we have been so busy. This last week we met 2 people that really wanted to bash with us, they both told us we were wrong and we were going straight to Hell. It was really funny. It makes for some pretty interesting storys. Friday last week we went down to a training in vista, for all the new District leaders it was a really good meeting! I learned so much, but there is still a lot to learn. It is going to be interesting having responsiblity and also being in a new area is going to be so weird! I am super nervous. It is so amazing how much stuff you collect in just 7 months. It was really crazy packing everything up.

Oh man I forgot to tell you, Last saturday we went out and helped a new family move in,. and when we showed up the dad that was moving in looked at my name and pronounced it perfectly the first time and we got talking about it and how he knew it and he said that He knows Rindlisbachers up in fresno and then we continued to talk about it, and come to find out his wifes sister Is Brittney Rindlisbacher, Richard, my cousins wife, it was so crazy to find that out, and richard was even going to be there. So I was sort of in a way related to the family we helped move in, it was pretty crazy!

Week 31- Sept 11

Thank you so much for that package! It was really awesome! That Family that you met was the Taylors, He is the ward mission leader here in the Pauba ward. They are such an awesome family!
That is so crazy that Austin is already 15! I cant believe it. You are going to have a house full of drivers here pretty soon. Those pictures of Austin running are so awesome! that is so cool that he is doing cross country! I wish i could come to one of his races, but the pictures will do! That is so sweet that he is slowly getting better. I remember my first year of xc it was really hard, but if he keeps it up he will get better! So how did the boys like the BYU game on Saturday? That is pretty awesome that they got to go! How is school going? Are the boys doing good?

This past week was a pretty disappointing week. Friday while we were doing our weekly planning we were planning for the baptism we were supposed to be having this coming Saturday. While we were planning we called the member that the investigator lives with to see when we could get over there to have a lesson and we found out that our investigator just got up and left, and come to find out he is living on the beach in Oceanside ansd there is no word on when he is coming back. So that was pretty disappointing to find out. Also that afternoon wew called another one of our investigetors to confirm the lesson for that night and she told us that she didnt want us coming over anymore to teach her or to visit her. So Friday was just a day of disappointment.

Yesterday we did some service for a member in the ward. We broke up 3 slabs of concrete and loaded it into a dump trailer. That was a ton of fun. I really like manual labor. The member we were doing service for owns his own company and last week while we were at his house he showed us some plans and we were talking about them and about all the work I did before my mission and he said that if I wanted to when I got done with my mission I could come back and be the Landscape architect for his company. It was a pretty awesome offer. Saturday was a busy service day like usual, we deep cleaned the church and painted a fence and cleaned a wood floor and move a weight set. It was a busy day, but I really like days like that. Thursday we did service out on the tree farm again, its always fun to go out there.

So next Tuesday is transfers and I am pretty sure I am leaving Temecula but I wont know until Saturday night so that is going to be interesting to find out. It is going to be a little disappointing to leave Temecula, I really like this area. But it will be cool to go to different places and meet different people. So for mail and packages just send them to the mission office from now on.

Love You!

Oh yeah I have an awesome story for you. 2 weeks ago in the San Diego temple there was a live baptism performed. There was a family who had been baptized a year ago and they were going to get sealed together but the Temple president noticed that one of the kids had just turned 8 and in order to be sealed he had to be baptized, so they did all the things they needed to and they got permission from Salt lake and the 8 year old was baptized for himself in the font in the Temple. I thought that was pretty awesome!

Week 30- Sept 4

I am doing really good. We have been staying pretty busy. We have a baptismal date set for the 15 of this month which is going to be really awesome. We just started teaching this guy about 2 weeks ago and last Wednesday we invited him to be baptized and he said yes, it was pretty sweet. We try to teach him 3 to 4 times a week depending which is awesome. He has some really bad back problems so he is on a lot of medication and it makes him kind of loopy which is really sad to see but it is amazing how the atonement works and how by faith we can be healed. This last week we have given a good amount of blessings which is really cool. It is so awesome to get to see the power of the priesthood work. Yesterday was an interesting day, we didn't have any lessons so we just went around looking for service to do and we ended up doing a good amount and we talked to a good amount of people. It is so ridiculous how summer basically ends and everyone stays inside. No one is ever out to talk to which is really disappointing. Last night we went and visited one of our investigators to see if we could set up a time to go back and have a lesson and while we were standing there Elder Goble asked for the guitar that they had and he started jamming out on it and then he made up a song about them coming to church. It was so funny.

Sunday, Elder Hanny from the 70 was in our ward here for church. It was pretty cool to have a 70 there. He was in our ward council and he helped make it better which was really awesome. Saturday we helped the Bishop paint his fence, that was pretty fun. the Bishop here is such a great guy, he is an awesome Bishop. It is so awesome how as a Missionary you basically have a free card to be awkward. Last week we went to visit a golden potential and we were talking with her in her front yard and her mom came out and we started talking with her and it was such an awkward conversation her mom really didnt like us being there. While we were talking we found out that she had grown up LDS but had some bad experiences. Her dad and step dad were both excommunicated and she didnt know that we believed in CHrist she thought we worshipped Joseph Smith. it was really weird, and we havent been back since which is disappointing. but we are going to keep trying. Oh and also while we were talking we asked about her husband and she said Jesus was her husband, it was just really weird.
Hope all is going well and I hope you have a great week!
