Well first things first, I have been transferred to the La Costa area, which is basically in the city of Carlsbad, but it is in the Del Mar stake. I have been assigned to be the zone leader with my companion over the Del Mar Zone. My companion is from Virginia he's a pretty cool guy. Its definitely been transition trying to get to know the new area and also trying to figure out what I am supposed to be doing as a zone leader. This past week has been a pretty long week to say the least. We are busy every hour of every day. This transfer is going to be an interesting one, because with all the things that are changing with missionaries and the MTC they had to take a week out so it will only be 5 weeks instead of 6. So that means that my mission is going to be a week shorter which is a bummer.
This week has been very busy like I said. We have been doing a lot of things for the zone, we have had tons of lessons, and on top of that we have been going on exchanges. It is interesting being a zone leader because we get to do exchanges a lot. We went on 2 last week and we will be going on 2 more this week. It is cool to see how other missionaries work and how I can help them. It is a lot of fun, but it also is a lot of responsibility. There are 2 districts in the zone, and there are 12 missionaries in the zone.
I have yet to meet really anyone in the ward, because this past week was stake conference, I know I told you that last week but I went to another one in the stake I am now serving in. It was pretty cool, because we got a new stake president. The other one got called on a mission to be a mission president. It was a cool meeting. There were 2 general authorities there. It was a really good meeting.
There are a lot of investigators here, which is pretty cool to see. So we have been pretty busy teaching which is always good. We teach this one investigator every night. It is pretty interesting meeting with someone everyday but its cool to see how much they want to learn. Hopefully he will be baptized sometime in February.
The people here are so much different than they were up in Ladera ranch. There are still some rude people and people that don't want to talk to us, but the people here aren't as busy it seems. Maybe that's because there are more retired people and not as many young families. It is going to be interesting to serve here but it is going to be good. I know I am here for a reason.
Man the weather there sounds so exciting. A lot more than it is here. The weather has been pretty much the same (sunny) but there have been a couple of rainy days. I really miss the snow and the cold. That sounds like a good winter back in Utah. How much snow is up in t he Mountains? That's so cool to hear that Del Loy now owns the whole team, that is awesome. Are you guys going to be going to more games now? That's funny that dad's not used to them yet. Does he have to wear them all the time? How is the Book of Mormon reading been coming? good I hope!
Thanks for everything you do mom! You are great! I Love You!! Have a great week!

Week 50-Jan 22nd
So you did hear correctly. I am getting transferred. I leave ladera today at 2:30 and I find out where I am going at 4. I am pretty nervous but I am also pretty excited. It is going to be a good change of pace. I didnt think I would be leaving, but I guess I was wrong. I am going to miss the people here but the next area is going to be good also. I will let you know next week where I end up going. We did have Cafe Rio last night. It was really good. The Drapers are an awesome family. I heard you guys are pretty good friends. It is interesting getting transfered. I have mixed feelings about it but I know the Lord needs me else where. It will be good.
This past week has been really busy. We have been running around so much. We have had a lot of appointment in both areas so we have been doing a lot of driving. A lot of back and forth between the 3 wards. Yesterday we drove 60 miles getting to all the places we had to be. Sunday we had stake conference. It was really good. Elder Reynolds from the seventy came and spoke. He is a really funny guy it was a good meeting. President and Sister Cook also came and spoke which was really cool. On Saturday while we were walking around trying to talk with people I guess the key to our car fell out of my pocket. We looked for over an hour trying to find it but there was no luck, so the senior couple over housing and cars, Elder and Sister Olson, who I guess we are related to had to drive up from carlsbad to bring us the spare key. While they were driving up I did a baptismal interview which was pretty cool. Its always great to get to do them. But they brought us the key and everything was ok. We had to go to the dealership yesterday to get a new key. The key was 300 dollars. That is incredible for a key.
Last week we had a lesson with one of the investigators in the 2nd ward. It was the make or break lesson. We asked question on why he was meeting with us and what he wanted to get out of it and it was basically just knowledge. We asked him if he found out that it was true if he would change and he said he wouldnt so we had to drop him. he was kind of offended that we couldn't meet with him anymore but we did what we had to do to use our time more effectively, because time is precious. It was a very interesting lesson but it was good.
We have met a lot of really interesting people while we have been out walking around. It is so funny to hear the ways some people try to interpret scriptures. We have run into a lot of people this past week that want to bash with us but we don't and it really bugs them. We just share our testimonies and some scriptures and walk away and the people are always so confused its pretty funny.
That is so crazy that it is freezing back home. How cold has it been getting? Here it has been pretty warm, the days are about 70 and the nights are about 60. It doesnt feel like january at all. I definitely miss the cold and the snow. Thats awesome that you guys are continuing to read. keep it up. It is really cool to see how many times Christ is mention. Thats pretty funny that dad has to get glasses. He's getting old. Thats awesome that Austin didnt get any F's I'm proud of him. Tell him to keep up the good work.
Thanks for everything mom. I got the 2 packages that you sent. thank you. Have a great week. Love You!!

Week 49- Jan 15
This past week has been really good. It also has been really busy. There has been so much going on which is really good. We haven't really slowed down at all, we are actually getting busier which is good and bad. We have been running from appointment to appointment. Today our preparation is cut short again because we have lessons again. Last week we picked up 4 new investigators, and this week we have plans to pick up 3 more in my area. It is incredible to see how much the work has picked up. All the numbers that we track i.e. lessons, new investigators all that good stuff, has sky rocketed in the past couple of weeks. We are actually getting the goals that we have set. We have been teaching a lot more, which is helping me become a better teacher.
Last Saturday we helped a new couple move in which was pretty fun, they moved into an apartment on the third floor so it was fun moving all their stuff up the stairs. Later that afternoon we were visiting a couple people in another apartment complex, and this lady was moving out and we offered to help and she took us up on it, so we helped someone move out from a third story apartment. That lady that we helped took pictures of us which was kind of weird but she was going to email them to you. when she emails them to you, it will be a good missionary opportunity for you. Also the pictures that they took of us ended up on Facebook. We found this out through the youth of the other ward, it was funny to hear.
Last Wednesday we had interviews with President Cook. Its always great to get to talk with him and have him answer questions. I actually asked him what time the Holy Ghost went to bed and he said that he didn't, but when we aren't being obedient like getting in on time or going to bed on time the Holy Ghost leaves us which could mean he goes to bed. I thought that was pretty interesting. We also had an interview with his wife. That was good also.
That is so funny to hear that dad has to get glasses. I knew it was going to happen sooner or later. Is he going to have to wear them all the time? That's awesome that you guys have been reading the Book of Mormon. It is pretty cool to mark it this way. I am actually going to be finishing It today. Its always cool to finish it. Its cool to look through it and see all the markings. that's crazy that you guys get a 4 day weekend that sounds pretty sweet. That's awesome that dad and Wyatt are going to bless the sacrament together. So I keep hearing about all this snow that Utah is getting. How much have you guys gotten?
Thanks for everything! Love You!! Have a great week!

Week 48- Jan 8
The past week has been a great week, we have been so busy. We are now covering three wards which is really interesting. We have had so many appointments the past week. It has been a lot of fun. We have been running from house to house and appointment to appointment which has been quite the adventure. Life has been a lot better since last week which is cool but it is a little different having 2 companions. One Elder Baker is from Pocatello Idaho and Elder Graham is from West Jordan. They are both great guys and working with them has been tons of fun. Sunday was an extremely busy day. I had to go to 2 ward councils by myself and to classes and sacrament meetings, so for most of the day I was companion hoping to get to all the meetings. It was really interesting and busy but it was a cool day. Since last Tuesday the work here in Ladera has really increased. We have seen so many miracles. We have talked to a lot of people and in the next 2 weeks we will be picking up multiple new investigators. Last night we had FHE with a part member family and we picked the husband up as a new investigator. It was really cool because we taught the restoration and we shared the Restoration DVD with them. They really enjoyed it. During the lesson the spirit was so strong and they all felt it which was cool. We have been teaching so much, but also we have been out talking to people to find more people to teach. Today (preparation day) we have a 2 lessons during the day so we won't be able to do to much relaxing, but it will be good. Being busy is really good. Everyday is such a tiring day, but that's how you know its a good day. Everyday my head hurts from thinking about so many things but I have seen a lot of growth in myself in the past week, Its really cool to get to look back and see the change. On Saturday there was 10 Elders working in Ladera which was pretty cool, we talked to so many people, but there wasn't really anyone that was interested but we have been seeing the miracles that have come from talking with everyone.
That's so awesome that you got the suburban payed off, now you'll have money when I get home to buy me a nice truck, haha just kidding I will buy my own. That's so awesome that you guys have been reading. how do you like it? That's awesome that dad taught on Sunday, does he like it? That would be pretty cool to come down here when I get home, but no need to worry about that for quite a while. Mom thanks for everything, Have a great week! Love You!

Oh yeah so the other night Elder Baker and I were talking and while we were talking I remembered something you used to say. You used to say that the Holy Ghost goes to bed at 12, and I was wondering what time He gets up?
