This past week has been a pretty awesome. Everything is going pretty great! I now have a new companion. His name is Elder Tetuanui, he is from Tahiti. He's a pretty cool guy. I lived with him while I was serving in Temecula. I was so shocked when President Cook announced that he was going to be my companion. I was worried who I was going to get. he is so funny, and everyone loves him. It is a lot of fun when we meet people or go to members homes, because we both have tough names. We are basically Elder T and Elder R.
This past week I have been helping Elder Tetuanui get to know the area. We have been visiting a lot of members introducing him. We have been doing a lot of organizing also to get the work here running a lot smoother. There is one family in the ward that is a part member family that is Polynesian that we have been trying to work with but it hasn't worked out. On Saturday we went and visited them and the actually let us in and we talked with them for an hour, and we also set up a return appointment. I give all the credit to elder T. A lot of our investigators have been out of town so we haven't been able to do much teaching, hopefully this week is better.
Thursday night we went out on some visits with the stake President. He is a solid guy. he is so missionary minded, It is his first priority. He was a mission president in Spain so he knows all about the work and how to best do it. Now we just need to get all the wards on board. Its pretty crazy, because we talk with him all the time, and he also talks to other missionaries in the Stake.
Yesterday we were walking down the road, and there was this guy getting out of his car so we went over and started talking with him. Come to find out he is a professional heavy weight boxer. His name is Trent Rawlins. It was pretty cool we sat down on his front porch and talk with him for a little while about the Bible and the Book of Mormon. He said that we could come by when ever and talk more with him.
I don't really know what has happened with that guy that wanted the Book of Mormon. he doesn't live in my area, but I am going to have to follow up with the missionaries there to see how it is going with him.
Love, Elder RINDLISBACHER
