This week was a good week! We ave had a lot of adventures. President and Sister Cook went home yesterday. It was really tough to say goodbye. They are definitely going to be missed. They have done so much for the mission and for me specifically. They are having their homecoming on the 14 of July it is going to be up in Logan. You guys should go. I forgot the address today but I will send it next week. The transfer meeting last week was a tough meeting, it was cool to get together with all the missionaries in the mission. Yesterday the Carlsbad mission split. It is really weird to think that can't get transferred up there anymore and also to think that I won't see a good amount of missionaries that I have served with. Change is always good tho, because it means that the work is going forward.
Yesterday was a pretty funny day. We were at our apartment for lunch and we were making a lesson plan for a lesson that we were going to be having that afternoon, and the doorbell rang. At the door was our neighbor from across the way standing there in his underwear. He was putting something on his porch and the door closed behind him and it was locked. So my companion scaled up the wall onto his back porch and went in and unlocked the door. It was so funny. We ended up talking with him for a little bit and he said that he wanted to sit down and talk with us. That was pretty awesome to hear. Simple acts of service always touch peoples hearts.
Last week we had 4 baptisms in the Del Mar stake. They were all great baptisms. We had a lot of non-members there. It is always great to see people change their lives and follow Christ more closely. For the past couple of months our mission has been focusing on getting 235 baptisms before June 30, that is 35 more than the past couple of years. So we were all praying and working hard to achieve our goal. Yesterday we found out that we exceeded our goal. We got 236. It was so awesome I was so excited! to hear that!
Right now we are teaching 2 investigators. They both have baptismal dates for July 13th. Hopefully they will both make it. But we are working hard to help them make it I am excited! We have been meeting with both of them a little bit this past week to help them. It is always fun to teach and share the gospel. This past week my companion and I set a goal to talk to 75 people on the street. We started the week of not doing very well at all. We thought that we weren't going to get it. By Wednesday we only had 15 and by the end of Friday we only had 30. Saturday wasn't looking very good at all but we decided that we were just going to hit the pavement when we had time. By Sunday night we had talked to 55 people. We ended up exceeding our goal. It was so cool to see how when you put your trust in Heavenly Father and you work hard he provides a way.
Love, Elder RINDLISBACHER
