Week 78- August 5

This week has been another great week here in Southern California. Everything is going great. We are staying pretty busy trying to find more people to teach. Not only for us but also the other set of missionaries that will be coming to the Ward next week. We have been trying to find them an apartment/place to live. We finally found one this week. All the apartment places we went to had waiting list up to 5 years to live there. Why would anyone wait 5 years for an apartment? That was an adventure. I have never had to go shopping for an apartment before.
We had a lesson on Saturday with our investigator from Italy. It was a great lesson. We taught her the first half of the Plan of Salvation. She is really smart and really driven. It is really cool to see how much she wants to understand and receive an answer. During our lesson we gave her an Italian copy of The Book of Mormon. When we asked her to read a verse from the scriptures she read it in Italian. That is such a cool language. When she read it in Italian she was able to understand it. We invited her to come to church with us the next day but she said that she had work at 11 and it would be tough for her to go. We told her that no matter what there was going to be a seat waiting for her. The next day at church she showed up and stayed for 2 hours. She ended up getting some one to cover her morning  shift. She has a strong desire and really wants to receive an answer.

On Thursday night we had a lesson with another one of our investigators. In this lesson she brought out pretty much all her concerns like "Its not fair that there is only one church." so we talked about all the concerns and told her that it was going to take time for her to understand all the concerns she had. We were with her for just about 2 hours talking about her concerns. The sad thing is, is that she is really gullible and she gets tossed around with all sorts of doctrines so it has been really hard to keep her focused and in one direction. She really needs the gospel and we are doing our best to help her see the importance of the message that we share. Something else that is holding her back is her boyfriend I guess you could say. He says that he is Jesus and tells her all sorts of crazy things and she actually believes it. It is really sad. There is a great member family that is helping us with her which is really good.
We have been teaching another girl also. We teach her pretty much twice a week. They are always good lessons. She has a baptismal date for September 7 and we are just basically playing the waiting game. She has a testimony of everything and wants to be baptized but there is a couple things that we have to wait for before she can. We pretty much have run out of things to teach her. We have taught her everything out of Preach My Gospel so we basically just review things every time. But it is really good because she is going to have a great understanding and a strong testimony.
Saturday night we stopped by the bishops house to see if he could help us with a couple things which he was able to but while we were there he asked us if we would go swing by a less active that he had never met. So we went by that night and caught the family home. They let us in and we talked for a minute and we asked if we could come back and teach them and they said that we could. So we set up a return appointment and we will be going back this week. The cool thing is, is that this is a part member family. It was really cool to follow the Counsel from Bishop and we saw a miracle.
Last Preparation day we were able to play baseball. That was a ton of fun. There was a bunch of Priests and Laurels from the 3 wards in the district that came and played with us. It was a sweet game of baseball. We also played ultimate Frisbee. The next day I was so sore. I am not in shape like I used to be and I really noticed the next day. While we were playing baseball I slide home not thinking anything of it, But I was in basketball shorts. Yes bad Idea. I ended up scrapping my leg pretty goo I will send a picture next week.
Next week is transfers. I am pretty sure I am leaving but we will just have to wait and see. I am pretty nervous but excited to see what happens. I will let you know next week if I am going to be getting transferred.
Thanks for everything!! Love You!!
Love, Elder RINDLISBACHER
