This past week has been a pretty cool week! I had the chance to go on a couple exchanges this week, so I wasn't in my area to much. I was in the Cardiff ward and the Del Mar ward. Its always pretty cool to go on exchanges because you get to learn from different missionaries. Both the Cardiff and Del Mar wards are along the ocean so on our morning run we ran down to the beach, but we didn't touch the sand. That was the first time I have seen the beach since I got here a year ago. While I was on exchanges in the Cardiff ward I met a pretty cool family from South Jordan, Utah. They lived in Grandma and Granpa Rindlisbachers ward so they knew them and the knew Norman and Melinda. Thier names were Larry and Patty Briggs. It is incredible how small the world is.
Thursday we had our Zone Training meeting. It was a good meeting. My companion and I trained on a couple things from preach my gospel. It is tough, because I still get nervous when I get in front of a bunch of people, but I am working on getting over it. This assignment as a zone leader is helping me with that. Sunday morning we had a meeting with all the Bishops and ward mission leaders in the stake, along with the Stake presidency. The Stake president shared the Lords vision for the stake. He is so fired up about the work here. Thursday morning he came to seminary and taught the youth about the Atonement and how we need to share it. He challenged them to take a pass along copy and read 3 Nephi 11 to 3 Nephi 30 marking things that apply to the Atonement and Christ. Then hen Challenged them to carry that copy everywhere they go so people can see it and to share it with someone.
Wedesday morning we had a pretty interesting lesson with one of our investigators. When we meet with him we meet him at starbucks and we have a lesson on the patio. It is pretty funny. He buys us a hot chocolate and we sit there and we talk about the gospel. We always end up talking about the end of the world. He is pretty well versed in the bible so we basically talk all about the bible but we gave him a copy of the Book of Mormon and he is reading it. They are always fun lessons. That night we had a lesson with our recent convert. We talked about the Priesthood and the member we had with us shared his conversion story. It was great! The recent convert wants to serve a mission so we are helping him study and prepare for that. It is aweosme because he is already doing missionary work. He shared the Book of Mormon with his dad.
Thats so awesome that you guys had a baptism! That is really exciting! That is cool that you all had a part in the program! Was there a good turn out? Thats awesome that the weather is starting to warm up. Is there still snow? The weather down here is still the same. Thats awesome that you got that picture. I definitely think that part of the reason their visas got denied was for this guy. He is a golden investigator. In the package that you send it would be pretty awesome if you could send me some cd's of piano hymns. but if you cant find any it will be fine.
Love, Elder RINDLISBACHER
